James Brindley and Wet Earth Colliery Part 3

In this video we continue our study of Wet Earth Colliery. We now follow on from the work of James Brindley and look at how this Colliery in the Irwell valley evolved. We are following the feeder stream into the colliery. This feeder stream later became a canal, Fletchers canal and at the colliery was a Loading basin. There is a rich history of coal mining at Clifton and the Irwell valley. Mathew Fletcher developed the Wet earth Colliery and later Botany Bay colliery. We are in the undergrowth looking for clues to the past workings of this mine on this historical archeological search and its also an Urbex urban exploring quest into the past Industrial history of such a fascinating place.
