At the Film Fights podcast, Cousin Kyle, the Fob, and I are excited to announce what we believe to be a first of its kind 80s Action Movie Tournament pitting the best action movies against each other until we determine the greatest action movie of the 1980s. We have sorted through various online greatest lists and determined the top 16 action movies from that decade. In this Eighth episode of Classic Clash, Eddie Murphy faces off against Kurt Russell, with Murphy playing Axel Foley from BEVERYLY HILLS COP and Russell playing the Jack Burton from BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. Both movies are fun in their own way, but one was just good enough to reign supreme! One reason we are super-exited for this tournament is that we actually haven’t seen most of these classic action films on this list. We want to take a fresh look at these 1980s with a Gen Z perspective and see which ones still hold up, which ones do not, and ultimately determine the greatest action movie of the 80s!
