As I started to progress in teaching and beginning competitions, it became apparent that a skate with more support and wear time was needed. A professional skate, with pro frame. Y’all I have been struggling with figures, one foot anything like spins or slaloms, jumps, etc. I thought it was me fully… I mean it wasn’t preventing me from doing the moves, but they were a struggle when they didn’t have to be, sometimes painful and caused injury. Again, blaming my level of skill. This Edea with STD plate has increased the lot of my skating down to feeling my edges. Holy shnikes batman I feel my EDGES!!! Without having to pronate my ankle to death do us part, and twerk my knee to hip. I’m at an age that just ain’t right for long term. THANK YOU!!! I had no idea I loved ankle support!! 😆🤣🥳 So this is what true support feels like, with a plate that does what I want, when I want, with stability, precision, and omfg EDGES! This is the lightest plate and skate combo I’ve ever skated with and alone that’s lovely. I chose the steel as it was more affordable on the STD Danza Plate (comparable to RollLines Dance Plate) in oil slick. Lightest skate.. can you believe there’s a titanium version even lighter??? Omg. This is also the most comfortable skate I’ve ever skated in in my life. Even tho, it’s rock solid in support, definitely has a break in time 10hours plus… still most comfortable skate. The padding and design fit my foot without even being molded or punches or anything fresh out the box and I have a wider foot and heel. I did choose the Edea Classica for this reason. Wider. As far as hardness/support it’s their softest boot.. and this isn’t saying that lightly 🤣 it’s still hard as concrete 🤯 yet the inside and low cut ankle with lots of padding, It’s the nicest hug my feet have ever felt. I ordered these from STD (Standard Dance Skates and Plates, Spain 🇪🇸), the customer service was top notch. Very communicative, and educating. I thought by charts here in USA, I was a size 260 for them. They were out of that size after ordering and let me know, I let them know my exact measurements so to find a close fit.. either up or down a half size (yes they have half sizes in Edea boots). Turns out after seeing my measurements, they let me know the charts here were not correct and I am actually a 265 (I am an 8.5 US woman’s shoe, EU 40, 251 mm on one foot, 247 mm on other)…and let me tell you.. so grateful. This is the perfect size and the 260 would of been too small, would of had to get it stretched. They mounted the skates to perfection, with little pro stats like screwing the plate to boot from bottom into the skate so flush with plate, not the other way around now having to file ends of screws to not stick out all sharp at the bottom. Gold/Brass screws. Stuff like that. Now this plate! First, never experienced such sensitivity in a roller skate plate before and/ or this lightness. Wow 🤩 Never going back! The oil slick color and how it shines on the floor when the light hits it and the trucks 🤤, the design and technology that went into it. All of it. Never knew and so grateful to finally take the plunge and purchase legit sports equipment for professional use. Sit spins are officially a thing, and boy have my figures progressed with ease and speed.
