Klunker — How to Play 🎲 and Is It a Gem? 💎

Remember the 1990s? There was lots of purples and oranges and greens and everything was radical and extreme! Back then, Uwe Rosenberg wasn't famous for complex harvest-set or polyomino board games. He was much less famous in the hobby, and was known for making simple, quirky card games. His most famous was Bohnanza, and it is still enjoyed today. Klunker (1999 Hans im Glück) is another quirky Rosenberg pre-Agricola card game, and shares some DNA with Bohnanza. Players are trying to collect sets of cards and turn them (literally) in for money. Instead of trading and negotiating to get the cards you need, though, you'll offer cards in your storefront and hope other players buy them, and you'll buy others' cards to put in your vault. The more different types you collect, though, the less each set is worth! It can be hard to justify seeking out an old copy of Klunker when Bohnanza is so widely available. Fortunately, you don't need to — you can give it a try with a seven-player copy of Bohnanza you may already have!
