Most probably C is used in the beginning of the word if /k/ sound comes just after short vowel sound ( a, o, u ) and consonants. While, K comes with (i e y) , Double vowel (oo, ea) and long vowel sound . whereas, ck comes after short vowel sound and at the same time it comes at the end of the word. sometimes ck comes in the middle of the word.....
