Asia's Largest Seashells Museum || India Seashell Museum - Mahabalipuram || Episode - 6 #indiaseashellmuseum #pearlsmuseum #seashellmuseum #mytravellingchronicles #mamallapuramhistoricalplaces #mahabalipuram #mamallapuram ============================================================ About Sea Shell Museum, India Seashell Museum Welcome to the Seashell Museum, which is part of the India Seashell Museum of Mahabalipuram. This museum houses the seashells and oysters of varying shape, size, and appearance. Seashells Museum of the India Seashell’s Museum is Asia’s largest seashell museum. This sea shells museum has a collection of over 40 thousand different species of sea shells including snail shells and oysters. India seashell museum was started by Raja Mohamed who had a great passion of collecting sea shell from his childhood days. He first started collecting shells at Pamban Islands near Rameswaram in 1979. Seashell museum in Mahabalipuram is now Asia’s largest and world’s second largest seashell museum. This museum was opened to public in the year 2013 after his 33 years of meticulous collection of sea shells from across the world. In fact K Raja Mohamed sold out his family property to build this museum. The museum is divided into 4 major sections. each has a huge gallery that displays a unique collection of shells. frankly, I am mesmerized and spellbound by the amazing collection of seashells that India seashell museum has on offer. I had the opportunity to witness some of the biggest seashells here and then came across the smallest seashell species of the world on display in one of the sections. Also on display were models of train, plane and car, one placed in each of the galleries. and these models are made out of oyster shells. The meticulous work of K Raja Mohamed is seen as along with every display, the name, species and type of each seashell is mentioned. A real hats off to the efforts of k raja Mohamed whose sheer dedication and zeal gifted the country with such a unique and huge collection of sea shells. I personally loved visiting this place and if I had to pick my favorites, it would be the shell museum, mineral stones museum and the pearls museum. I am sure I would be visiting back this place sometime in the future with leisure time at hands. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Myself: Hello Viewers, I am Rajinikanth and solo travelling is my passion.
