The World's Easiest, Crowd Pleasing Vegan Waffle Recipe

Franklin shows you how to make the world's easiest, crowd pleasing vegan waffles. Do you want to host your own waffle breakfast get together? Then go to http://opensourcevegan.com/2013/10/04.... Here's the recipe: Place in a blend and blend: 2 1/2 c. water 3 c. oats 1 ripe banana 1 tsp. salt Place in a sprayed waffle iron for 6-8 minutes or until it's done. 3/26/2017: I now sometimes add an extra banana and 1 tsp. of vanilla to the recipe, but the recipe in the video can stand on it's own. Here's some products that you might find useful in helping you make the world's easiest, crowd pleasing vegan waffles: (Disclaimer: these are affiliate links, so I may receive a commission from them) 1. Black and Decker Double Flip Waffle Irons https://amzn.to/3qyr8MF I've been using Black and Decker Double Flip Waffle irons for almost three years now. For a family of 4, I recommend getting at least 2 because then, you should be able to walk into the kitchen, blend up your ingredients, put the batter in two double flip waffle irons and make 4 waffles in 15 minutes or less with my waffle recipe. (I personally now just add 2 bananas instead of one to the recipe). After your first batch, you should be able to make the next four waffles in 10-12 minutes or less. I personally have 3 of these waffle irons. When I make waffles for only me, myself, and I, I only use two of them at a time. It takes me around 12 minutes to make my first 4 waffles, and that's usually all I make for myself at a time. If I'm making 80-100 waffles for a waffle breakfast at my church, then I use all these of my double flip waffle irons. I normally make too many waffles for our waffle breakfast, but I have a "phobia" that people might go away hungry, so I make more than enough. Then I give away the leftover waffles so people can take them home with them. Making waffles is something I enjoy doing for myself or others. I've literally made thousands of them over the years, and I'm happy to pass down this waffle making "tradition". :) 2. Oster Blender https://amzn.to/3MYXM1z I personally still use an Oster Blender at my home. This specific blender is very similar to the one I use. It does cost more than what I said off the cuff in this video, but it is still one of the most affordable blenders out there. I personally believe this blender can do what other blenders can do, but people just have to blend longer with the Oster than they would have to with a Vitamix. I think this blender is a good one to start out with for those who are on a tight budget. 3. Vitamix 5200 https://amzn.to/3NkDkJT With the plant based friends and acquaintances I've associated with throughout the years, the Vitamix is the #1 blender choice. In my circles, the name Vitamix is almost synonymous with blending as Google is to searching. How would one blend without using a Vitamix? :) When I worked at my school's vegan cafeteria and lifestyle center, we used only Vitamix blenders. They were very reliable for quantity cooking. The other great thing is that some of the people I've known that have had Vitamixes for a while have said that Vitamix honors their warranty. 4. Vitamix tamper tool for 64oz classic jar https://amzn.to/3P3aAqk I used this taper tool a lot when I was using a Vitamix to blend things. It helps a lot in the initial blending when you have a lot in a Vitamix. Just make sure you have the cap on the Vitamix blender before using the tamper tool. Otherwise, it's prone to get blended up a little. This happened to other people (and most likely myself as well), so I want to give you fair warning.
