In episode 89 of Whisky in SV, Kevin and I did a side-by-side comparison of 3 whiskies from Augusta: the illustrious Buckner's 17 Year versus its two younger (and significantly more affordable) little brother and cousin: the Buckner's 10 year, and the Old Route 8 Year. We both agreed that the 17 Year is an amazing pour, but the price is too astronomical to justify the experience. Of the more affordable options, we significantly preferred the Buckner's 10 Year on the nose, but it had a slight aspartame aftertaste which detracted from the experience.
