The Punjabi Punjab festival was once Lahore to Delhi before partition the festival of Sawan month was celebrated with full enthusiasm. On this day all college students, staff members near & dear ones assemble under the tree and make Peengh Juhlla, which is a swing having a wooden seat hanging by two ropes or chains from a metal frame or tree. Now the Govt Girls College celebrates the Mela of the Dhiya in the last of Sawan month. Times changed but the tradition and festival rituals are still in the mind of Punjabi families. But the system of celebration in the city has been changed now women started to celebrate this program with a new music system. On the music of the DJ, they have a dance. In Ludhiana, there are a number of women's colleges & education groups.
