TECH TIP TUESDAY! Today I show you 2 easy ways to remove ceramic coating before working on the panel! In today's automotive market people are being offered ceramic coatings when they purchase a new vehicle or applied after an extensive detailing process. Most ceramic coatings are 1K products that are applied, flashed off and then any excess product is removed. It offers the customer an extra protection over their factory clear coat and most of the companies say the only way to remove the coating is with an abrasive. This video demonstrates two different ways that a ceramic coating can be removed. One being a wool pad and a heavy cutting compound. The second is a simple P1200 grit sand paper. Before repairs are done you will need to completely remove the ceramic coating from the panel otherwise you will have issues during the repair process. If painted over haziness could occur and you'll have to start all over again.. So why not just does it right the first time?
