Uttarakannada district is junction between Northen Western Ghats and southern Western Ghats. & I am from this district . In this region the people have their own style of livelihood which completely depends on these particular valley & they get everything from cultivation and surrounding forest. Recently Uttarakannada led to have a severe flood due to heavy rain. There are many types of flooding . In that the particular type of flood is causing by Urbanization. Once you have a productive land people tend to come and occupy & extend their agriculture. & the water will not go to the down stream. Uttarakannada it is an area which has very rich biodiversity & it is also very well populated. In the recent decades its been highly urbanized.
