WWF created the One Planet City Challenge (OPCC) to mobilize action and support from cities in the global transition toward a one-planet future – a future where nature and people thrive within the ecological limits of our one and only planet. The OPCC is the largest and longest running competition of its kind. Close to 600 cities from 53 countries have participated since it’s inception 10 years ago. All reporting their goals and actions to reduce carbon emissions and build local resilience in line with the targets set forth in the Paris Agreement.
