Lindsey Centracchio | Artist Spotlight: Follow Up | Vision Media

We are excited to catch back up with Lindsey Centracchio as she finishes her previous piece titled “burning, in blue”, and continues her work on the series centered around Swallows, a beautiful family of birds that have captured Lindsey’s creativity. Swallows to Lindsey represent a ‘twin flame’ or connection you have with someone on a deeper level in either a relationship or friendship. This bond is inseparable and something she wants to share with her audience. Her paintings bring the loyalty and passion of Swallows to life in incredible ways that only Lindsey can create. As Lindsey works, she shares with us her process of mixing paints, and media to perfect the technical side of her work as well as tapping into her unique creative vision. We learned about the decisions behind her work as well as what technical rules she follows to create the best work or find the correct look she is hoping for. Lindsey discovers new techniques and creative ideas throughout these two pieces, including tape masking and new approaches to color that allow her art to take on new feelings while staying true to her art style. Another addition to this current work is implementing writing into the painting itself, with her painting, “burning, in blue” Lindsey has beautifully added a self written poem describing the emotion behind the painting. This poem is a stunning touch to the work featuring two Swallows, and marks something new for Lindsey's creative pursuit. Lindsey tells us, “The fact that I added in an element of typography into my work & the contents being my own poem is pushing me in the direction I want to be going in because I am moved by writing and I really want to incorporate more into future pieces”. Watching Lindsey in her studio is always an incredible experience as colors and feelings come alive through her work. We are thankful for the opportunity to be allowed into her home studio again to learn more about her process and approach to her incredible work as it nears completion.
