Raag Jog is an immensely popular and versatile post-sunset raag in contemporary music. The raag now enjoys considerable popularity also in the semi-classical and light genres. It has acquired its significance in the latter half of the last century. The raag bears a close resemblance to raag Nat of the Carnatic system of Music. It belongs to the Khamaj Thaat (Parent scale) of Hindustani Classical music, and is a hyper-pentatonic raag. This baithak was held at the initiative of Ved Gupta, our founder, as a part of bazm e Khas foundation live concerts.
