Met a Namibia tourist at Singapore Botanic Gardens. He told me he was very surprised to spot so many resident and colourful birds here. He was referring to the Scarlet-backed flowerpecker and the Brown-throated sunbird after asking me the names. He shared that his friend told him he will not be able to spot any birds in Singapore. Perhaps, foreigners thought that Singapore being a concrete jungle, there will not be any wildlife.
