These classes are build around the Honda GX160 and GX200 engine to maximise reliability, simplicity and reduce costs. So this was the first time I have ever had the opportunity to set up the kart on my own. This was easier said than done. During testing on the Saturday, I fell into the trap of changing more than one thing at a time, meaning I was chasing the set up and had no real way of knowing what was and wasn’t working. Eventually, I found I was running the tyre pressures far too low and combined with the cold conditions, had no grip. Lots learnt then.
