If you’d like to send a few bucks my way so I can keep the cooler stocked, check out either of the following links: https://nickcarverphoto.com/beer_me https://nickcarverphoto.com/contribute They’ll tell you that you can’t print 40x50 inches from an RZ67 negative. They’ll say it’s just too big a blow-up for 6x7 film. They’ll say I’m crazy for pushing the Epson V750 that hard. Yeah, they’ll say that. …they might be right. But what the hell? Life is short, printing is fun, and the opportunity arose. So let’s blow some stuff up! Negatives and prints, I mean! Of course. That’s what I’m talking about. Not that the NSA is listening to this or anything but, you know, in the event they were listening I just want to be crystal clear that I’m talking about blowing up images, as in making them larger. That’s all. Haha. Man… Is it hot in here? So here’s a video about me making a 40x50-inch pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper from that “Joshua Trees in Fog” photo I took awhile back in Joshua Tree National Park using my Mamiya RZ67. Getting a good print from such a moderately sized negative was difficult, but transporting this big buxom beauty proved to be the bigger challenge. It had a 450+ mile journey home. And hey I’m even going to do what everyone always asks me to do in these videos: share the costs involved with making such a big framed print. As you can imagine, it ain’t cheap.
