Ning Zhou (SJTU): First indication of solar B8 neutrinos through CEvNS in PandaX-4T

Sydney CPPC Seminar 26th September 2024 PandaX experiment at the China Jinping Underground Laboratory uses xenon as target to detect weak and rare physics signals, including dark matter and neutrinoless double-beta decay. We are running a new generation detector with 4-tonne liquid xenon in the sensitive volume, PandaX-4T. Recently the PandaX-4T experiment has, for the first time, found indication of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) events induced by solar boron-8 neutrinos, with a significance of 2.64 sigma. It is also the first indication of solar neutrino “fog” in a dark matter direct detection experiment. In this talk, I will show the details of this low-energy threshold search and the next plan of PandaX experiment.
