The province of Cagayan De Oro & Iligan City were struck by typhoon Sendong last December 16, 2011. It brought almost 200mm of rain and left rivers swollen. The storm brought the worse flood they had in more than 40 years. It's not normal here in the Philippines to be struck by weather disturbances during December. Since it was night-time when the flood waters rose, many died people died as they were trapped in their homes. As of today, the death toll is more than 1,000. Most of the casualties were women and children. More than 45,000 people are still staying in evacuation centers and they need food, medicine, clothing, and who knows if they still have their own shelters. It's a very sad sight and it breaks our hearts to think that most of them will be spending Christmas away from their home. Worse, there are a lot of them who will be having Christmas without their loved ones. We were once struck by typhoon too. Typhoon Ondoy last September 2009 ravaged our homes. It's something we have in common in the band. We know how it feels and that really saddens us. We lost a lot of our material possessions but we're lucky to be alive and playing music. We aren't rich folks but we're helping in our own small ways. I hope you would consider helping our countrymen too. Every small help counts. There are lots of things they need right now, and I know that you, behind that computer, may have something to help. You can spread the awareness of the situation, volunteer in relief operations, donate old clothes, and even donate cash. It doesn't matter if it's big or small amount.
