Video location created in Kalemegdan Fortress Kalemegdan Fortress (Belgrade Fortress) stands as the most beautiful tourist attraction in Serbia.It was built from the 2nd to th 18th centuries.it took a long time to do.It was destroyed and rebuilt many times.The fortress has become a symbol of Belgrade.The conquerors left a significant mark on Serbian history.Austria-Hungary,Roman,and Ottoman. The Romans started by building it in the 2nd century.The Roman Legion Iv Flaviae protected this area.They have faced armies of Goths,Avars,Huns and Slavs. What is Kalemegdan? Kalegmedan came with the Ottoman Empire.They named it with two Turkic words.Kale means City or Fortress and Megdan means Field. At the top of Kalemegdan Fortress you will find the symbol of Belgrade city,the Victor monument. The Bronze male figure is 14 meters tall.Standing firmly facing the majestic river.The statue was created in 1913 by Serbian famous sculptor Ivan Mestrovic. There is also a military museum on site.this museumis the most accurate witness to the changes in history in this part of the Balkans and beyond.The museum has more than 3,000 ancient and modern items covering everything from Roman swords and helmets to items of modern war history. Kalemegdan Fortress is visited by thousands of tourists every year, and is open all day and night all year round.
