19.03.2022 IMHPJ Annual Conference 2022, in collaboration with the laboratory of Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis, Kyoto University. Darian LEADER, is a psychoanalyst and author. His books have been translated into French, Spanish, and Japanese and include Promises Lovers Make When It Gets Late (1997), The New Black: Mourning, Melancholia and Depression (2008), Strictly Bipolar (2013), Why Can't We Sleep? (2019), and Jouissance: Sexuality, Suffering and Satisfaction (2021). https://www.darianleader.com/ Together we reflect on how the history of analytic interpretations inflect those of other traditions. The lecture is aimed at clinicians from cognitive as well as non-psychoanalytical backgrounds and will provide examples of how different analysts might interpret a particular clinical sequence. Darian Leader lives in London and is a founding member of the Centre for Freudian Analysis and Research. https://cfar.org.uk/ Founded in 1997, International Mental Health Professionals Japan (IMHPJ) is an interdisciplinary network of individuals and organizations providing mental health care, therapy and related services to the people of the various nationalities living in Japan. https://www.imhpj.org/ The Laboratory of Psychopathology and Psychoanalysis, Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies of Kyoto University, is led by Associate Professor Takuya MATSUMOTO and Program-Specific Associate Professor Nicolas TAJAN.
