Pygmy hippos make natural sunscreen with a pinkish glaze, It protects them from the sun’s harsh rays. Their skin is smooth, dark, and sleek like their larger kin, With a round head, tiny ears, and a cheeky grin. With a lifespan thought to be up to 30 to 50 years, They live peacefully, human threats are their major fear. Endangered now, pygmy hippos need our care, With less than 3,000 in the wild, there's none to spare. For now, in zoos they breed and thrive, Helping their species to grow and survive.
