Halloween Kitchen Decorate with Me 2024!

Come along as I decorate my open kitchen shelves for Halloween with my thrifted vintage and antique items. The kitchen is one of my favorite places to decorate because it is a focal point in my home. Do you decorate your kitchen for Halloween? I had a small bunch of green apples that needed to be cooked before going bad so I decided to bake a Harvest Cake from the Southern Living 2023 October Fall Classics magazine. It turned out so yummy and dare I say beautiful with the addition of edible flowers. Making my home a festive and cozy place is a passion of mine and I hope you enjoy it! Please consider sticking around by subscribing to the channel. Also, don’t forget to leave a comment and tell me what are some recipes you enjoy baking in the Halloween/Fall season. Southern Living, October 2023, Fall Classics Magazine Harvest Cake Recipe 4 cups diced fresh apples (I used Granny Smith) 2 cups sugar 3 cups flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. Nutmeg 1 tsp. Salt 2 tsp. Baking soda 2 eggs 1 cup vegetable oil 1 tsp. Vanilla 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, plus more for garnish White Icing (Whisk together ⅔ cup powdered sugar, 1 - 2 tablespoons milk, and ½ teaspoon vanilla until smooth) Mix apples and sugar together in a bowl; let stand for 1 hour. Sift flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and baking soda into a medium bowl. In another bowl, beat eggs, oil, and vanilla together. Add the apple mixture, then fold in flour mixture followed by the walnuts (or pecans). Bake in a 10-inch tube pan in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Drizzle cooled cake with White Icing; garnish with more chopped nuts (or edible flowers) Edible flowers: I found Organic edible flowers at Whole Foods Market. Please note, they need to be washed before use.
