#assassinscreed #videogamephilosophy #assassinsvstemplars #assassinsbrotherhood #templarorder So after 7 years, I decided to replay Ubisoft's most bugged, worst launched and probably worst received Assassins Creed Game, Assassin's Creed Unity. Honestly, on my toaster the beautiful graphics of the game and all it’s visual glitches have never been much of a concern for me. Hell, the first time I played AC2 was on a Pentium D without a graphics card at a juicy, smooth 13fps. You might say, what type of a masochist are you? And you would be right. Playing video games under 30fps feels like steadily rubbing your genitals on a cheese grater, but what else could a 13 year old boy do? Getting back to unity, although it may be the most hated AC out there, I have to say that I loved it. Because unlike the new RPG esk games we have been getting, this felt like a true assassins creed experience. It took me back to being Altair, running around Damascus, tracking down a target. Now get your fanboy alarms out, because I'm about to say something super controversial. I think, as a Assassin's Creed Game, Unity was better than black flag. Yes yes, click off the video now. But if you're still here, I think Unity is actually one of the best games in the franchise. The reason for this is that it sticks to the assassin vs templar routes, but provides an interesting perspective. Black Flag, although I enjoyed it, I didn't play as an assassin. I was a pirate, sailing the high seas. Fuck the templars and fuck the assassins, I'm on my ship and any fucker who has a problem can try shoot a cannon at me. This is where I got the idea for todays video: Unity has one of the most organised, established assassins guilds that we've seen. It made me think back on the real differences between the assassins and the templars and I decided to do a deeper dive into, once again a controversial opinion, that the templars are actually correct. What I am going to discuss: In this comparison I'm going to quickly establish the ideologies of the two factions and the origins of their beliefs, then I'm going to look at the application of these beliefs throughout some of the games and then to look at their views philosophically and to apply them practically to us.
