Dignified access to ballot is a big topic during elections. As it stands, the marginalized population have shared that they feel voting is a privilage more than a right for the Nepali citizens. Sarita Lamichhane, the under of Prayatna Nepal shares stories of challenges for the disabled community during the election - both in representation and participation. Although Election Commission Nepal has put resolutions in place to ensure everyone gets to vote equally, Sarita feels the country could do a lot more to ensure and increase higher participation during the elections. Just making the polling stations disabled friendly doesn't mean the people with disabilities can vote - there are many other circumstances that need to be realized to make elections truly equal.
