Rattle Can Paint Job for the Budget Civic Build! | Better than Expected?

Fine. I'll do it MYSELF! In today's video, the Budget Honda Civic Build gets a Rattle Can paint job! In effort to save money on this build, I knew I was going to be doing some DIY painting on this car. So join me for my biggest rattle can job yet with some results I'm proud of! Spray painting car parts is not my favorite thing to do, but I've had great luck with it in the past. I knew I was going to be rattle canning some small parts on this car, but not the big stuff. Due to my painter having technical issues with his booth, I took on the task of painting my bumper, lip, grill. sideskirts, and door mouldings. All using Rattle Cans ONLY with good primer, good base coat, and 2K Clear Coat. To be honest, the second painting session was not planned, nor did I plan to film it. I tried my best to get the footage I could to make this video. For a complete walkthrough of how I've painted plastic car parts in the past, I recommend watching my front lip painting video. I did a much better job talking about the prep steps. I followed the same routine of prepping the parts with sanding using up to 600 grit, paint prep wipedown, masking with tape, 3 coats of flexible primer, sanding more, tacking, shooting 3 coats of base color, tacking, and finally shooting 3 coats of 2K clear coat. Once finished, I was able to sand with 3k grit paper and machine polish. Overall, I'm super happy with the results and saved a ton of money by not taking it to a shop. Is it perfect? Of course not. But it's still pretty damn good in my eyes! Don't hate me for not showing the final result yet! The walkaround of the parts on the car will be in the next video. I just didn't have time to get the footage I needed. Thanks to JW. Media for all the awesome painting shots!   / jimmywilkey   As always, thanks for watching!
