Torrente 3 is an action-adventure open world video game developed by Virtual Toys and published by Virgin Media, originally released in October 2005 for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 2. Based on the 2005 Spanish black comedy film of the same name, directed by and starring Santiago Segura as José Luis Torrente, a corrupt and incompetent former cop who becomes a bodyguard for a European politician. The game follows the events of the film, with some additional scenes and characters. In the first part of the game, Torrente has to protect Giannina Ricci, a popular Italian deputy who arrives in Spain to present a report against corruption and organized crime. Torrente has to escort her from the airport to her hotel, while avoiding attacks from various enemies such as ninjas, terrorists and mafia thugs. Along the way, he meets his son Pepito, who wants to join him as a bodyguard, and his uncle Mauricio, who gives him weapons and advice. In the second part of the game, Torrente discovers that Ricci is actually a fraud who works for Montellini Roures, a powerful Italian businessman who is behind a plot to assassinate the King of Spain during a football match. Torrente teams up with Josito and Juan Francisco, two former colleagues from the police force, to stop the conspiracy and save the King. He also has to deal with Salas and Menéndez, two corrupt cops who are after him. In the third part of the game, Torrente infiltrates Montellini’s yacht, where Ricci and her accomplices are celebrating their plan. He has to fight his way through security guards, snipers and helicopters, until he reaches the main deck where he confronts Ricci and Montellini. He manages to defeat them and expose their scheme to the public, becoming a national hero.
