Velit Multiple Realisations - Automatically Generate 1,000 Depth Models

Depth conversion is generally responsible for the bulk of the uncertainty in the estimation of field reserves. Velit produces accurate velocity models very quickly, however it is important to derive an estimate of the uncertainty in the depth horizons of interest. Manual sensitivity analysis is tedious and prone to error and only a limited number of test cases can be run. Velit will enable the user to develop a reasonable estimate of depth uncertainty based on a large number of depth models derived from one or more depth conversion schemes. Velit will enable the user to identify the key parameters controlling the range of Gross Rock Volume. Velit Multiple Realizations are a product of perturbing the Best Technical Case (BTC). We look at each depth conversion technique and allow the user to select a realistic range over which to perturb the BTC. We therefore get our model set (1000) and each model has a complete audit trail and data set. This allows the user to examine for example the P50 or any other model as if it were the BTC. This also allows us to export the velocity model(s) back to Petrel e.g. as Average Velocity Volumes of P10, P50, P90 for instant depth conversion feedback. #Velit #DepthConversion #VelocityModelling #petrel #TimeToDepth #VelPAK
