Ever wondered what happens during the reflocking process for your saddle? Follow along with me from start to finish to find out! Reflocking is the process of removing the old wool from a saddle to replace it with all new wool. To do this well, your saddle fitter needs to disassemble the saddle (removing the panel from the tree) to strip out all the existing flocking. This is important when the flocking gets compacted, lumpy, or needs to be drastically changed to match the horse’s shape.
