Samson Siasia vs FIFA - Segun Odegbami

SEGUN ODEGBAMI FORMER SUPER EAGLES CAPTAIN On Friday August 16 2019, FIFA issued a statement banning former Nigerian international team coach Samson Siaisia from the game of football for life, following a match-fixing probe by the world governing body on football. The adjudicatory chamber of FIFA independent Ethics Committee found that Siasia was "guilty of having accepted that he would receive bribes in relation to the manipulation of matches in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics." Reacting to this, the former Nigeria coach filed an appeal with FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport against the life ban. Since the ban became effective last year, Siaisia has been out of job and presently, he has called out to well-meaning Nigerians to assist him with donations that will enable him to appeal the life ban imposed on him by the world football federation (FIFA). the former super eagles player made the appeal after he voiced out that he had only been able to raise only $275 (about N100,000) despite the fact that he needs at least N90 million (about $249,000) in legal costs to fight the ban. Siasia decided to reach out to Nigerians to help him raise funds so he will be able to defend himself and hopefully overturn the lifetime ban placed on him by the world football governing body. The 51-year-old Siasia played 51 times as a striker for the Nigerian national team and later coached various national youth sides before a spell as senior coach in 2016.At the moment, his living condition has deteriorated and his financial status now on zero level. Recently, he released a video asking Nigerians to come to his aids. Joining us now is Segun Odegbami, former Green Eagles Captain and member of the order of the Niger – MON.
