LINEAR WEIGHTED MOVING AVERAGE The linear weighted moving average (LWMA) can be identified through its name as one of those moving average. That means it’s going to create a data point of the average price for each candle, plot these data points on your price chart and connect them all with a straight line between each dot. The LWMA is a commonly used average and relative to other moving averages is pretty quick to respond to a turn in price. It’s not doing anything particularly different to those other moving averages though. Mostly used to help identify trends it can be a decent market filter, but it’s got a multitude of alternative uses in a variety of strategies.
