In the US and World versions teams are toned down to two: The Ramblers and The Slammers, but US is the only one with a 4 players configuration. The game proceeds also in a very different way, there is no longer a "story mode" divided in 4 rounds plus an extra one. But it's only one match now: The Ramblers vs The Slammer and it's played in four periods, there is a also a stamina/energy gauge that depletes over time. If you score it will slow down a little, but if the opponent score it will go down fast, actually very fast, anyway it will reach zero no matter what and you'll be forced to insert more coins to continue. Players can punch or kick their opponents also various obstacles such as fire, hole on the ground, crows who fly at players, cats who throw garbage on the floor etc, add interesting elements to the gameplay. Slams, jump shots, and down-court heaves are all appropriate means of scoring. However, there are no fouls (and therefore no free throw shots), and more surprisingly no three-point shots, but you’ll quickly find that it doesn’t mean you can’t close the gap on the opposition quickly. In the game, you’ll notice that as soon as someone scores, the other team immediately takes possession of the ball under the basket, and is ripe for an attack. Also a major difference is that the game is endless, after you win all periods the game congratulates with you, then put your name on the leaderboard and then the game restart form scratches, until you decide to not continue playing.
