In this woodturning tutorial, I demonstrate how to create a stunning textured shield using an Ash blank. Utilizing Easy Wood Tools mid-size range with standard rake cutters, followed by Klingspor Abrasives sanding from 120 to 600 grit, I achieve a smooth finish. I then apply Hampshire Sheen Pre-thinned sanding sealer, followed by two coats, and top it off with Hampshire Sheen Professional Black gloss lacquer. Using the Dremel 8260 with SC544, I create captivating textures before enhancing the piece with Hampshire Sheen Intrinsic colors in earth, flame, and honey, along with Jo Sonja's Silver from the Metallic range.
