This is a review of the 2005 full-screen edition DVD of Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera.” The film is based on the musical of the same name by Webber, and directed by the wonderful Joel Schumacher. The film stars Emmy Rossum, Patrick Wilson, Miranda Richardson, Minnie Driver, and Gerard Butler as “The Phantom.” The film is set in Paris, the capital of France, and tells the story of a soprano singer named Christine, falls in love with a disfigured man with a mask on one side of his face. Now Christine already has a boyfriend named “Raoul,” and later on in the film, Raoul and the Phantom fight each other over Christine, where ultimately Christine chooses Raoul.
