We bought this narrowboat shell in autumn 2022 and we’ve been transforming her into our fully electric off-grid home. Since 2019 we've lived an alternative lifestyle travelling the canals of the UK. Truthfully, we had wanted to find a slower, more simplistic way of life for a while. But, it was a shock redundancy that gave us the final push. We stumbled across boatlife and haven't looked back since. Living on a narrowboat is not without its challenges. For example, the lifestyle is fully off-grid so we have to manage our resources such as power and water. For us though, boatlife has provided that 'real' life that we were desperately craving.
