Here is an overview of what I like to have my scouts pack when going to summer camp. The black bags with bears on them I got off of amazon. They are called packing cubes or compression cubes. **Most important reminder! Have your scout help pack their stuff. You want them to know where everything is when they get to camp. *** CLOTHING AND BEDDING Shorts and/or pants (5-6) Shirts (4-5) including class B Troop or scout t-shirts Class A Uniform Daily change of underwear and socks Handkerchiefs (optional) Bathing Suit Pajamas Sweater and/or light Jacket Sneakers Sleeping Bag Pillow Ground pad Cot (optional, some camps provide them) THINGS FOR DAYPACK Knapsack/Daypack Light, Headlamp, and Extra Batteries Nalgene (2) Scout Handbook Pen, Pencil, Writing pad Compass Insect Repellent Sunscreen Individual First Aid Kit Watch (make sure it has an alarm for wake up) Hat Rain gear (Raincoat and/or poncho, rain pants)  TOILET ARTICLES Toothbrush and Toothpaste Hand Towel Bath Towel (Quick dry camp towel) Washcloth Comb, Brush, Mirror Soap in container Hand sanitizer OPTIONAL Camera Sewing Kit About $20-$40 for trading post.
