Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Curt Rebellion XD Shock Absorbing Adjustable Ball Mount with a 2 inch and a 2 5/16 diameter ball for a two inch hitch receiver. Now this ball mount with the included hitch balls will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion right here, this is what'll slide into your two inch by two inch hitch receiver that's on your vehicle. And then right up front here, these are the 2 inch diameter ball or the 2 5/16 diameter ball, provide your connection point for your trailer coupler. I want to zoom in and talk about the technology on this. This ball mount uses the innovative ShockDrop technology, which ensures a nice, smooth, steady ride. Right in here, it has a shock-absorbing cushion, it's an isolator that'll dampen any jerking, jarring, chucking and rattling. And what's nice about that is it's virtually maintenance-free 'cause there's no airbags or bearings that have to be serviced. The only thing you have to do is right back here, if you look close, there's a built in grease zerk fitting, and that you attach your grease gun to, that'll let you easily lubricate the pivot point of the internal isolator core. So that's really all that's needed. If you notice this has an adjustable height, it'll let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. The hitch ball platform right here, that the balls are on, this will slide up or down the channel. And it'll secure in place using these included stainless steel pins and the single clip. Now what's nice about it, this is a new feature. They use a single clip, they used to have two separate clips that you'd have to do it twice, so they designed a single clip, and what's nice about that is once you get your pins through there, you just hook it to the bottom one, push it up to the top one, snap it in place, and you're all ready to go. Makes it a lot easier to secure both pins. Now, also on this ball platform right inside here, they do have a rubber bumper and that's for an anti-rattle. So when you go to install your ball platform to your adjustable height here, it is a little tough to get the pins to line up initially, 'cause there is that rubber platform in there. But once you do that, you can put your pins through and secure it. Now it does have six adjustment positions here, are available. The incremental height adjustment between each hole, if we measure center to center, is 1 1/4 inches. Now the maximum drop, which is the position it's in right now, all the way to the bottom is gonna be 6 1/4 inch drop. If you raise this all the way to the top and pin it, it's gonna give you a maximum rise of 1/4 of an inch. Now because of the ShockDrop technology, it will not allow you to use this in the rise position. You could only use this in the drop position. Now this ball mount is a nice solid carbon steel construction, offers exceptional strength, commercial grade towing capacity. You can see it has a nice dark textured, dark gray teridium finish, which'll resist corrosion, provides a premium look. The hitch balls are steel hitch balls, have a nice chrome finish to resist corrosion. Now, when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pin and clip or a hitch lock for securing it to the hitch receiver, that is not included, you would have to supply that. We do sell them separately on our website. If you already have one, you can use yours. It does require a 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin to go through here. Application, again, this is for two inch by two inch trailer hitch receivers. Gross towing weight capacity is 15,000 pounds. Tongue weight is 1500 pounds. Now, depending on the ball you use, it'll determine your gross towing weight capacity. If you use the smaller 2 inch diameter ball, it's a 10,000 pound gross towing capacity. The larger 2 5/16 ball will be at 15,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Weight on this whole unit is about 44 pounds. Just wanna give you a few measurements. We're gonna measure the distance from the center of this hitch pin hole to the back of the shank right here. So if we get our ruler on there, go center of the hole to the back of the shank is right about 3 1/2 inches. The distance from the center of this hitch pin hole to this adjustment holes, center of the adjustment holes, center to center is gonna be right about 7 7/8 inches.
