Today we picked up where we left off working on these gifts. The MIL and her sister will be getting small 4 inch wood slices to hang up with critters they like on them. The basic shape of the critters I transferred onto the wood slices that have already been primed with a couple of coats of gesso. Next I did a fairly quick under painting with the colors close to what tissues paper colors I plan to use. After the paint was dry, I grabbed some tacky glue and began the process of attaching the tissue paper. Materials List: Wood Slices (You can also use canvas. Water color paper, poster board, or foam board may work as well. But those might get warped slightly from the wetness of the glue) Gesso (optional, I primed mine ahead of time.) Pencil Pencil Sharpener Tracing Paper (optional. You can also just free hand a design.) Tape ( I used just some scotch tape.) Paint ( I used some acrylic craft paint. You could probably also use some color pencils if that is what you have.) Paint Brushes ( For painting and some grubby ones you can use for gluing.) Glue ( I used Tacky glue but school glue like Elmers can works also. Just know that if you use Elmers you may have to hold your tissue paper in place for a few minutes longer then if you used the tacky glue.) Small Paper Plate, Disposable Cup (Or something you can put glue on or in.) Tissue Paper (In the colors you want to use. Mine were cut into roughly one inch squares. You pick a size that works for you.) Cup of Water (To rinse your brushes.) Stylus or Toothpick (Just something small that can get glue on it to help push the tissue paper pieces into position.) Twine, Jute, or Ribbon (To hang the item if using a wood slice. We drilled a hole into ours to run our string through.) Modge Podge (To put on top when we are done to make sure everything is well glued into place.) Broadcasted live on Twitch -- Watch live at / niseybgn
