Harvesting cows in an RTS for resources! Universe at War: Earth Assault playable even in 2024

This is how you can still play Universe at War: Earth Assault, a terrific RTS with totally asymmetric factions by downloading it and playing with no issues even on windows 10. You can use this link:   / universe_at_war_earth_assault_download_link   ⭐UPCOMING STRATEGY GAMES⭐    • New AAA and Indie games in 2024,2023,...   👓Game Previews:    • PC Game Previews with gameplay and fe...   Here is one blast from the past it is sad you can't buy in any digital form today and despite all the calls on Petroglyph to make a new version of it available they haven't done that yet. All the game modes are working in this version so you can experience the multiple singleplayer campaigns with each faction, regular skirmish vs AI on many maps and four scenario modes which play out on a strategic map of the world and individual tactical battles, so similar to the gameplay modes in Dawn of War or Rise of Nations. The intro cinematic alone is fantastic to look at even if it is almost 20 years old at this point. What still hits me is just how well the voice acting was done in this game, sounding superior to many games released even in 2024. Besides the humans faction which you play with a bit in the introduction campaign which serves as a tutorial of sorts and an introduction to the story, you have the Hierarchy who’s defining feature are huge walkers which have individual hard points which can be equipped with weapons, armor and modules. These are very hard to destroy especially if you don’t target those individual modules in the correct order. You can even see them get damaged and holes made in them as they take damage, which is something the intro cinematic also showed. The cinematic camera which you can activate, much like in other games made by Petroglyph can be used to capture some really awesome combat shots between all the other useless shots when you stare at a wall or face away from really great sounding action you failed to witness. The other two factions, The Novus a race of machines who fight the Hierarchy to avenge their fallen creators, and the Masari, an ancient race of peaceful explorers also on the run from the Hierarchy both play in strange ways, and fully make these factions as asymmetrical as possible for an RTS. Unit abilities are almost non-existent, and even heroes have very few of them which aren’t all that powerful but have great utility. You can play with heroes which only have a single life or make them available during the whole match. There is a system of tech upgrades and each faction has three available paths but you can’t upgrade everything at once. Meaning you have to think which upgrades help you most against which opponent. To tell you the truth, playing this again so many years later, the game doesn’t drop a beat compared to any new title except maybe in the available command and control options for units. Gameplay vise when you are commanding troops and the graphics design reminds me most of Dawn of War if units weren’t in squads and you had no cover mechanics. #UniverseatWar#RTS#gameplay
