This raised a few appropriate questions about whether it's ethical to have a waiting list, and how to do it well. So in today's video, I'll share some of my own perspective on how to "properly" have a waitlist in private practice, and when to make sure you refer out or offer other resources. I want to highlight that when I've suggested in the past that therapists build a waitlist, it's always in the context of doing so before you've launched your practice and started seeing clients. Generally speaking, if you're already seeing clients and your practice is full, I don't think it's typically the best idea to keep a waitlist.
