How building my personal brand made me $200K! If you haven't thought about building your personal brand in 2020, or want to grow your personal brand, then this video is for! I know that a lot of people are a bit hesitant in putting in the work to build their personal brand because it means needing to put yourself out there. For me, it took me a LONG time to get used to speaking to the camera. Since I spent a good number of hours practicing speaking in front of a crowd, I thought it would naturally transfer to speaking in front of a camera. But nope! It took me more than 50 takes for my first video. I kept having to redo the intro because I was so self conscious and wanted it to be perfect. It wasn't easy. But eventually I was able to become more comfortable and be more confident to be in front of the camera. So I get you if you have those feelings of discomfort and hesitation. But know that building your personal brand is KEY. It has helped me more over $200K in terms of business deals and allowed me to grow my personal network. That is because people are able to see WHO I AM: my values, my work ethic, my struggles, my vision, and how I operate in life and in business. And when people can see who they are dealing with and feel like they can align with YOU, then business opportunities or project opportunities may arise. They end up buying into YOU. Understand that building your personal brand isn't about having a massive following on social media. That shouldn't be your ultimate goal. It should be to inspire and provide insight of WHO YOU ARE. We often make the mistake of trying to mimic the Gary Vaynerchuks or the Grand Cardones or the Dan Loks when we think about building our personal brand. We copy what they say and do, hoping that we too, would become successful. But it should be the reverse. As cheesy as it sounds...you need to BE YOURSELF. Because that is what people will buy into - not another Gary Vee clone. As like I said, building your personal brand from scratch won't be easy. It took me (and all the other successful people) a TON of videos and tries before we got comfortable. And it won't be easy to be consistent. But I encourage you and challenge you to commit to building your personal brand in 2019 by making 1 video a week or 1 photo a week.
