In 2025, we will see many trends that embrace living a more frugal life of saving money and being more intentional. In this video, I share 10 of those trends. 1. The Tipping Point on Groceries One thing that has really affected people's budgets over the last few years is the price of groceries. Groceries have gotten so expensive lately that people are starting to be more intentional with what they buy. Many products, I believe, are reaching a tipping point where consumers are deciding to stop buying certain products all together. 2. Targeted Couponing Targeted couponing is a practice used by grocery stores in order to get you to become a more loyal customer. By using grocery store cards, they will collect information on what products you buy and target specific coupons to you that might be more relevant. 3. Denser Living In the United States there is a shortage of housing and in response there has been a construction boom. If you have been paying attention, many homes now are being build closer together and closer to commercial and public spaces. This dense living will allow people to save money by not being as dependent on cars and have more to enjoy close by. 4. Increased Usage of Public Spaces In the past few years, public spaces have improved and people are going to public spaces more. This is beneficial for many people's wallets because public spaces are completely free. In 2025, we will see more people using public spaces for entertainment. 5. The Decline of Eating Out The cost of a meal at a restaurant has gotten to about $20, which is becoming the tipping point for many consumers where they have decided to stop eating out. In 2025, we will see more people cooking at home and bringing food to work in order to save money. 6. The Decline of Streaming Services Another industry we will see decline this year is the streaming industry. Streaming used to be a cheaper option to cable TV; however, nowadays you need to subscribe to so many streaming services that it is becoming more than the price cable was. In 2025, many people will start to unsubscribe to streaming services in order to save money. 7. The Decline of Upgrading Culture Over the last decade or so, tech companies have created this culture of upgrading things every year when the newest version comes out. People are starting to no longer follow these trends because it is expensive and not much changes between versions anymore. 8. Group Vacation Cost Sharing Group vacation cost sharing is when a group of friends or family get together to go on a vacation, rent a house, and split the cost in order to save money. 9. No Spend Challenges No spend challenges are when you set aside a specific amount of time to not buy unnecessary items. The benefits of this are it allows you to save money, reset financial habits, and pay down debt. At the beginning of 2025, we will see many no spend challenges. 10.
