We end the year 2022 with the most epic trip yet - scaling Mount Saramati ! The highest peak of Nagaland at 3841m , located in the majestic land of the Yimkhiung Nagas that border India and Myanmar. Music: Epidemic sounds TREK DETAILS- - A road trip from Dimapur to Thanamir will take about 14 hours. You may choose to rest a night at the guest house in Meluri if you want to break up your trip. - Prices as per Thanamir Eco-tourism board: 2 guides are mandatory for trekking to mount Saramati. Porter optional. Porter will carry max 15 kgs. Cost per guide- Rs 700 Cost per porter- Rs 600 Registration (includes certificate upon completion)- Rs 150 Utensil charge at basecamp- Rs 1000 Rate of Thanamir guest house/night- Rs 500/person Rate of kitchen charge at Thanamir guest house- Rs 200 Options to rent tents, walking stick, sleeping bags available if you do not wish to carry your own. Please carry your own thrash bag and do not litter the trekking trail ! If you are trekking in winter, we advice layering of warm clothes (Merino wool based clothing is highly recommended for winter treks) that will wick the moisture off your body and keep you warm. * Thanamir is a beautiful village with limited resources. If viable, we would encourage trekkers to carry essential first-aid medicines for the villagers as they do not have a doctor or a nurse (currently) posted there.
