An Untouched, Remote And Beautiful Wilderness River You've Never Heard Of. The Jimmy Kash River.

I set out with Ben Beauchamp to find and follow a river that before this year, neither of us had ever heard of. The Jimmy Kash River starts off from it's namesake lake and flows to Lake Superior. Named after a trapper from the area, it's course flows over many, many waterfalls and rapids before joining the Dog River just above the spectacular Denison Falls. This would turn out to be the most physically demanding trip that either of us had ever undertaken. Just to find the first lake required a 3km portage/bushwhack. Around ever corner there seemed to be another obstacle barring our route. Rock climbing gear would not have been out of place on several of the portages as we had to lower boats and gear down the rockface to get back on the water. As difficult as this trip turned out to be, when we finished I found myself wishing it wasn't over but that is the curse of wanderlust.
