After a couple of kilometers, I passed through Vismundsetra summer pasture farm, which is beautifully set on a hillside down towards the river. During the hike, I found a suitable spot for a break next to Lunken lake. The first DNT self-served cabin for the night was Skjellbreidhytta, which is located 920 meters above sea level, to the north of the farms. From Skjellbreidhytta cabin, my path was up an ascent in forest terrain. The trail passed along a beautiful setting beside two lakes. From there, I continued west through forest terrain. The route after was particularly wet, luckily, I had good hiking boots. The second day ended in another self-served DNT cabin, Kittilbua. Leaving Kittilbua cabin, I continued west, along the large pits in the terrain dating back to when iron was produced from the bog ore. I continued along the fishing grounds at Valdrestjønna lake to the north. The trail led me up an ascent to the lookout tower with a gorgeous view around it. Then, the trail came down to the forest area, and I found a place to pause next to Dunglungen lake. The path continued above the tree line over the mountains Grytlifjell and Hornsjøfjell, with great views, and on to Vestfjellhytta cabin at Nysetra through the wet areas. From Vestfjellhytta cabin, the Jotunheimstien trail runs west through a cluster of summer pasture farms. It was a very chilly morning in Langsua National Park, but this is Norway, and you should be ready for weather changes. When I reached the river crossing, it was even colder. After I crossed the bridge, an ascent began to the Nordre Suluhøgda mountain, whose peak is 1,122 meters above sea level. After leaving the tree line and the mosquitoes behind, I decided to take a coffee break right on the peak. During the break, it started to rain, and my path led down to Liomseter lodge. From Liomeseter, I began my way back to Forset village. I spent one night camping in a tent right in front of the mountains. Unfortunately, the next morning, the mountain became fateful. While I was trying to capture its beauty with my DJI Mini 3 Pro, during one of the maneuvers, the blades touched the water surface, and it rolled over and went down under the water. =============================== 📍TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - DAY 1 Arriving at Langsua National Park 01:10 - Heading to Skjellbreidhytta DNT cabin 04:20 - DAY 2 Breakfast with the view 05:34 - Leaving the cabin & heading deeper into the park 08:25 - "Wild" life in the park is amazing 08:55 - Kittilbua DNT cabin 10:39 - DAY 3 Morning routine 11:45 - Heading to Vestfjellhytta DNT cabin 13:18 - Lookout tower in Langsua National Park 14:57 - Signing peak visitor book 16:51 - Long-awaited "shower" 18:33 - DAY 4 Morning in the mountain wilderness 20:44 - Best water crossings 21:55 - Coffee break on top of the peak 22:47 - Descending to Liomseter lodge 23:20 - DAY 5 Water supply on the trail 23:47 - Hiking to the best tent camping place 25:02 - Fateful camping next to the mountains #solobackpacking #silenthiking #norway
