The small town of Mlini with 1,000 inhabitants is located in the south of Dalmatia, about 10 kilometers from Dubrovnik and about 40 kilometers from Herceg Novi in Montenegro. The small town owes its name to its old mills, which can still be seen in the small old town. Together with other beautiful villages like Plat and Soline, the village belongs to the municipality of Zupa dubrovacka. Formerly a small fishing village, Mlini has become one of the most beautiful seaside resorts on the Dubrovnik Riviera. During a vacation in Mlini you can expect a very special vacation scenery. In the hinterland, a 628-meter-high mountain range rises, which draws a border to Bosnia and, together with the fantastic beaches of Mlini creates an exceptionally enchanting atmosphere. In Mlini, but also in the surrounding area, there are many beautiful attractions and places that can be discovered. The best way to explore the town is to take a walk along the picturesque promenade, which is about 2 kilometers long. It starts in the west at the Sheraton Dubrovnik Hotel and ends in the east at Plaža Astarea. On the way you can expect many picturesque bays, beautiful viewpoints and also fabulous cafés and traditional konobas. The actual center of the town is located at the small fishing port. Only a few steps further, you will discover the famous Mlini Mills, which also form the small historical center of the resort. Worth seeing is also the over 300 years old tree, whose huge shade invites you to take a cool break. This tree is an oriental plane tree, whose circumference is 7 meters. Right next to it is the small church Sveti Roko, a church from the 19th century. The interior with the painting by Mladen Pejakovic, a Croatian writer and painter, is also worth seeing. Another beautiful attraction of Mlini is the church of Sv. Ilar, which, according to records, dates back to 1164. From the inside, this church building inspires with beautiful frescoes and a cross from the 15th century. During a visit to Mlini you can expect a whole range of beautiful beaches! Most of these dream beaches are located along the promenade and can be reached relatively easily on foot or by bike. Here are the best bays and beaches at a glance: Beach Srebreno The most famous beach in Mlini is the beautiful Plaža Srebreno. This pebble beach, about 400 meters long, is one of the main beaches of the town. Also families with children appreciate this gently sloping beach, which is ideal for swimming. There is little natural shade here, but umbrellas and sun chairs can be rented on site. Really awesome are the small cafés, beach bars and restaurants, which are located just behind beach Srebreno and provide a really cozy vacation feeling. Beach Plaza Mlini Another jewel is the breathtakingly beautiful Beach Plaza Mlini. This beach is a mixture of rocky and pebbled beaches, with some pine trees providing cool shade. The sea is particularly clear at Plaza Mlini and shines in the most beautiful watercolors.
