Osman Nihat Akın was a Turkish composer born in 1905 in Istanbul, Bakırköy. He graduated from Istanbul Economic and Commercial Sciences Academy. Although he was not a professional musician, he is well-known for his successful compositions. He wrote the lyrics of many popular songs, such as "Bir ihtimal daha var o da ölmek mi dersin!" and "Körfezdeki durgun suya bir bak". He also wrote articles for music magazines.
