Because of the new flat trigger in one of my Shadow 2’s I’ve ended up shooting it a lot more than the other one with the stock curved trigger. When I had to go back to the one running the stock flat safety I was very aware of how much better I like the extended safety. There’s a number of advantages to the extended safety. #1. It acts like a thumb rest, allowing you to better manage the recoil. The Lok Grips do most of the work, but the extended safety is the icing. #2. If you do need to use the safety, it’s bigger size makes it more accessible and easier to apply. Like with anything, there might be a learning curve. I was running a SAO trigger in one of the S2’s for awhile and I never got used to disengaging the safety when drawing and shooting, but then I never took the time to get used to it either and went back to the SA/DA trigger; only running the SAO when I convert the gun to a poor man’s Open pistol with a magwell, which is not very often.
