It's been quite an interesting last few months since I posted a vid, and without belaboring the details, but generally, my YouTube absence was fraught with a major job change, family members passing, Covid, and the Holidays. But yet I shall persist, and this vid marks a major bottleneck release in my humble offerings to the elite group of viewers that I am honored to have visit my channel. To say this was a challenging song to play would be a major understatement - with something like 7 time signature changes, 3 tempo changes, and riff runs that could make your hands fall off - all wrapped up in a 8+ minute opus, makes for a hell of a time when you're trying to get a good take, in one take. So many weekends I would go out to the "studio" and run laps on the kit trying to get that one decent take and catch it on audio and vid simultaneously - more of a daunting task than you would think. I had the cameras die on me several times, broke sticks or made a mistake 7min and 40sec into the 8 min song, computer glitches and lags in the software, and a host of other elements that thwarted my best efforts to get that one good take. However...I finally got something that I felt was "OK" enough to submit for your viewing pleasure. I think I'm gonna do a bunch of simple 4-on-the-floor rockers for the foreseeable future...
