The 11 lines (following the type "ʿǝṭāna mogar" in the ʿǝzl mode) rhyme in -se, sometimes using proper names (ʾƎsse/Jesse, Bǝnāse/moon, ʾAwse/Hosea, Moses/Muse) and other times verbal nouns (ḥǝddāse/renewal, kǝnnāse/assembly, nagāśi/ruler, Śǝllāse/Trinity, fǝwwāse/healing, qǝddāse/sanctity, zǝlgāse/affliction). 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙭𝙩 — (01-06) Seemingly a likening of his wandering the wilderness, eventually settling at Wāli (Waldǝbbā), to the wandering of the Israelites in the desert and their eventual settling in Canaan. (07-08) While alone in the wilderness of Wāli, he was ordered by an angel to celebrate a feast for Mary. The bread and wine necessary to do so descend from heaven, as does Mary, and he recites the Anaphora of Mary (which is said to have been transmitted by St. Yāred [Jared]). There is a further miracle in which he, along with Abba Gabra Masqal, dine from a miraculously prepared table, the food and drink of which descended from heaven. (09) The voice of an angel guided him to Wāli and Michael himself figures in several episodes from the saint's life. (10-11) In at least one miracle he caused water to flow from a rock.
